About the directors
John Worland commenced a 21-year career with Essex Police after a period in management of theatres and cinemas. As an Inspector, John was a course commander and responsible for curriculum development for the Home Office at the Shotley Regional Police Training School. In between secondments at training establishments, John had many operational roles including running the Technical Surveillance Unit at Chelmsford for two years. He has attended a film production course at Plymouth University and developed his editing techniques at Aston University.
On taking early retirement, John freelanced for a number of film-making companies before forming his own business. He is the Chairman of the Trustees for The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre and is an active supporter of the Signals Media Arts Charity.
In addition to drama based projects, John loves making documentaries and is a past winner of the JVC national award for ‘most creative short documentary’. Witchfinder is John’s biggest project to date.
